A wonderful wife, mother and friend inspired MAE Fine Foods.  Melinda Ann Elwell loved sweets and dreamed of opening a chocolate shop. She often joked that her shop would not be successful because she would give all the proceeds to her friends and favorite charities. She and her husband, along with their three children, enjoyed spending quality time in their kitchen, laughing as they enjoyed gourmet meals and delectable desserts. They were known for their generosity and love.

Mindy passed away in 2016, after a five-year battle against brain cancer. In memory of his strong and graceful bride, entrepreneur Rich Elwell embraced his creative energy to couple their family’s packaging company with his wife’s love of chocolate. Despite the Elwells’ grief, MAE Fine Foods was born.

Today, MAE Fine Foods emerges as a family business rooted in the core values that guided Mindy’s life: Passion, commitment, and quality. Mindy’s friends, Adalberto C and Lisa U, join Chef Rich at the helm of this growing company. Home is now a 2,500+ square foot state-of-the-art kitchen that serves several National Food Service Distributors.
